Welcome to River Parishes Welcome to the South Central Louisiana Technical College, River Parishes Campus. SCL River Parishes Campus is one of several technical colleges created by Act 208 of the 1973 Louisiana Legislature. This school serves citizens of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes who are seeking the opportunity to participate in the "World of Work." However, there is no mystery that without academic and vocational preparation and qualification, this participation will be limited. The will to advance and the desire to achieve must be supported by the substance of sound basic Vocational-Technical Education. Workforce training is changing rapidly, paced by technological changes. The business community depends on technical colleges to provide human resources equipped with the skills and knowledge required by employees in the areas of communications, computer, and applied academic skills. You have become a part of a proud and dedicated group of educators who have formulated and practiced the institution’s philosophy and purpose. We strive to help each student reach economic goals, which are compatible to his or her interests and abilities. We assist students in setting realistic goals and attaining their potential for success. We adhere to the viewpoint that the institution exists for the benefit of the students.
