South Central Louisiana Technical College

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program prepares individuals to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain the operating condition of domestic, residential, and commercial heating air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The SCL Technical College Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Program is your residential and commercial HVAC technician-training center for South Central Louisiana. SCLTC's Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program is accredited by HVAC Excellence. As part of the program, students receive hands-on instruction from certified instructors.

CAREER OPTIONS
HVAC technicians may be employed by private companies or self-employed. Numerous industries in the State of Louisiana employ our students in fields such as: Offshore Saturation Dive HVAC Technicians, Logcap HVAC Technicians, Military Support Contractors, Refinery HVAC Technicians, Dehydration HVAC Technicians, and Commercial Beverage/Refrigeration Technicians.

The future looks bright for HVAC Technicians!
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) a division of the United States Department of Labor provides economic projections for over 700 occupations and 300 industries. During a recent HVAC Excellence Conference, Mr. Richard Holden - Regional Commissioner for the BLS provided attendees with the National Employment Outlook to the year 2020. 

 

CURRICULUM
Students entering the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Program have the option of selecting from up to seven degrees/certificates. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing
- North American Technician Excellence (NATE) testing
- Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) testing
