Student Testimonial for Lafourche Campus CDL Program

Mr. Baham,
I am writing this e-mail in appreciation of the CDL curriculum at the Lafourche campus. Approximately a year ago, I decided to quit my management position at the world's largest pest control company to pursue a career in trucking. My goal was to become an owner operator hauling refrigerated freight across the country. It was a great way to see the country while making a great income. I then had to choose a school that would be cost effective while at the same time, allow for individual attention. I discovered that the major private organizations were at least 1 1/2 hours away from the Houma area, would cost around $5,000 and typically had over 10 students per 1 instructor. I then heard from a friend that there was a school somewhere in Thibodaux that had a fantastic teacher. Well, that was my first dealing with the Lafourche, SCl campus. After finding out that the cost of the course was around $1,500, it was a no brainer for me and enrolled in the April course. Every phase of the course over exceeded my expectations! It was obvious that Greg had a lot of experience and gave everyone of us the individual attention we needed. What was truly helpful for me were the little tricks of the trade he shared (real life things). After finishing the course the first week of June, I received my Class A license and went on the hunt for a truck. On June 30, I purchased a 2008 Volvo and soon will be getting my refrigerated trailer.
I wanted to thank the SCL Lafourche campus, in particularly Greg Doiron, for allowing me the opportunity to pursue my dream. In 4 weeks, I went from graduating the class to owning my own rig. Greg and the CDL program is the best program, by far, in the area.  It really made me feel good to bring the truck to the school to show Greg and the current CDL students.
Again, thanks!Wayne Zimmerman
